Motivation and encourage your Team

As Team Captain you have a very important role to play. Your team will need motivation and encouragement if they are to finish the challenge. They will have good moments and some not so good moments and just a little bit of support from their captain can make all the difference.

We know you have a job to do as well, so we’ll try and make this as easy as possible.

Here are a few key tasks you’ll need to carry out before and during the challenge.

Think of a team name. You may want to consult your team on this. If you need some inspiration, check below for the perfect WAAT4 Challenge team name.

Planning your journey is a great way to keep your team focused on the challenge and gives them something to collectively aim for. Turn your steps to miles, so all you have to do is think of a destination. In our case “Pen y Fan” . Whilst taking in some of the most amazing views of the Brecon Beacons.

Thousands of people have taken part

You can see how your team are doing, for example are they training in ready for the challenge. Keep an eye on how your team members are doing during the lead up to the challenge and on the day of the challenge itself. If they are struggling you may want to give them a gentle, supportive nudge.

Find ways to motivate your team. Have a get together, or write a article for your staff newsletter?

During the lead up to The Brecon Beacons WAAT4 Challenge we will be advertising the event nationally to attract competitors and visitors to Brecon and the surrounding area.

We would be very grateful if you could help us by printing our poster and displaying it in your local shop, post office, pub or anywhere in your community.
