THE WAAT4 CHALLENGE
The WAAT4 Challenge is a circular team navigation challenge, in the Brecon
Beacons,
centered mainly around the iconic Pen y Fan.
The event is organised by a small team of staff from Dyfed-Powys Police,
supported
by members of the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team, Wales Air Ambulance,
the Gurkha's
and The Castle Hotel. Our objective is to raise money to support good causes.
This event, which is in its fifth year, has “something for everyone”.
For the endurance teams there is the full 40k route incorporating elements of two
Special Forces selection routes (The 'Fan Dance' and 'Point to Point'). For the battle
hardened extreme eventers, the record time for the 40k route is 3 hours 45 mins.
Can you beat it?
Whatever your ability, you are welcome to enjoy the 40k route, or a shorter 30k route
at your own pace. We want everyone to enjoy taking part by completing the course
whilst taking in some of the best views in the Brecon Beacons.
Unlike most outdoor events, we offer a whole day experience which spills over into
the evening with a hog roast and presentations in a marquee at the start/ finish
point. We also have a fully licensed bar and entertainment. Relax here and re live
your achievements of the day over a glass or two!
So far the event has raised just under £100,000. Help us make WAAT4 2013 even bigger
and more successful.
Sign up now and get involved in one of the best navigation events in the outdoor
calendar.
